Background

Thinx is a mid-sized direct-to-consumer brand in the Kimberly-Clark portfolio offering FDA-regulated menstruation products that prioritize comfort, sustainability, and innovation. As a digitally native brand operating in a highly regulated category, Thinx required a commerce approach balancing compliance with agility. They engaged us to conduct a comprehensive audit across their digital and organizational ecosystem, spanning marketing, UX, tech, and operations. That engagement quickly revealed foundational gaps, prompting Thinx to expand the relationship into a partnership focused on stabilization and growth. Today, our team acts as the central operating force behind their ecommerce business, guiding execution, strategy, and stakeholder alignment.

Results

With foundational systems stabilized, Thinx is now in a phase of focused experimentation and growth. Our partnership has enabled 92% of support tickets to align with key business objectives or OKRs, ensuring work completed work is impactful. We continue to support Thinx in pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in regulated DTC commerce, delivering rapid execution, strategic clarity, and the operational confidence needed to scale.

Challenge

Audits Reveal Fragmented Work Streams, Siloed Data

Thinx’s audit revealed fragmented systems, broken data pipelines, and operational silos that were slowing growth. Workflows were manual, visibility was limited, and digital marketing efforts lacked the coordination between departments required to meet the brand’s goals. Compliance processes, especially critical for an FDA-regulated product, were often bottlenecked by disconnected legal, analytics, and product teams. Thinx needed a partner who could take ownership of execution while enabling better decision-making and cross-functional clarity through data. Our goals for the engagement were to tighten up the commerce fundamentals, streamline operations, unify siloed information and workstreams, and position the business for long-term growth.

Solution

A REBUILT OPERATIONAL BACKBONE

Our team integrated into daily workflows, standing up process infrastructure where none existed and providing clarity across merchandising, UX, and development cycles while taking full ownership of digital marketing execution, product updates, campaign management, analytics, and platform enhancements. This operational takeover allowed internal teams to re-focus on strategy while ensuring execution moved forward quickly and consistently. Every marketing support ticket received a response within one hour, and we maintained 100% adherence to due dates helping to free up Thinx’s core staff to focus on growth.

Our capabilities are expansive and allow partners to use us in the best way for their business, whether that be technology integrators, strategic partners, or as a third-party ecommerce department.

Solution

Data Systems That Drive Strategy

Early in the engagement, it became clear that Thinx’s fragmented data architecture was obscuring performance insights and limiting experimentation. We rearchitected key data flows, resolved discrepancies in tracking, and implemented shared dashboards and training playbooks to ensure performance visibility across teams. The freeing of data movement also reduced FDA-related bottlenecks. By removing obstacles to various teams sharing information, Thinx can launch FDA-approved products faster than before.

This clean analytics layer enabled confident decision-making around UX improvements, experimentation, and conversion rate optimization. By linking marketing outcomes to business KPIs, we created a system that tracked performance and actively improved it.

A Cross-Functional Growth Engine

As the engagement matured, our role expanded to include stakeholder enablement—bridging the gap between Thinx’s DTC operation and key functions within Kimberly-Clark. We collaborated directly with legal and compliance teams to streamline content reviews and data governance, ensuring that innovation didn’t come at the cost of compliance. We facilitated knowledge transfer across departments, educated non-digital teams on ecommerce best practices, and embedded ourselves into strategic planning cycles. What began as an operational rescue evolved into a collaborative growth engine driving forward-thinking digital strategy.
