With 53 home entertainment stores distributed across the United Kingdom, Richer Sounds is one of the largest hi-fi retailers in the country. As soon as their new site launched in the summer of 2017, major issues became apparent. Eager to resolve these performance concerns, Richer Sounds enrolled in Corra’s TotalCare program to stabilize the site before the key period of Black Friday and shared the schedule of their aggressive flash sale campaigns.

Corra tested up to 2,000 concurrent users in the checkout funnel, and recommended a variety of critical code changes that substantially improved the scalability and performance of their store, leading to a 42% decrease in average server response time.
Corra’s support team was also able to monitor the site experience during the peaks caused by powerful email campaigns (200,000 emails/hour), and fixed key functionalities such as the PayPal Click & Collect custom module. As a result, Richer Sounds achieved a successful Black Friday weekend: for the first time, online sales surpassed brick-and-mortar purchases.
