Engineering a World-Class Team: Corra India

2 Min Read
Jacob John

Corra’s engineering organization spans two continents and is organized for complete follow-the-sun development. A large group of that engineering team is located here, in our India offices, which opened more than a decade ago.

Corra’s India offices consist of highly skilled engineers who have embraced and to a great extent helped to define the Corra culture. At the inception of our business we decided that all our offices and employees would be true Corra locations and team members  rather than outsourcing. Because of that, the team culture in both our Bangalore and Kochi offices is all about collaboration and doing our best to guarantee our clients’ success.

We started with a team of six engineers working with various systems and languages. In 2009, ecommerce and specifically Magento was gaining a foothold. We as a company decided to focus on the ecommerce vertical, which helped us to channel our energy and time into a single domain and become experts on it. Today, Corra is known to be comprised of subject matter and implementation experts in the ecommerce domain.

We soon found that for our clients, their ecommerce website was the primary – and in many cases the only – revenue stream. This makes our job both challenging and interesting, and also imparts a huge sense of responsibility onto our daily work. For Corra, being the keepers of a client’s commerce solution makes us a natural extension of their team, and we therefore share in our clients’ successes and failures. This is unique, and we love this aspect of our work.

The Corra focus on client satisfaction and success has remained the same throughout the years, and the engineers play a critical role in maintaining this. Today, we have a matured project delivery process to guarantee timely delivery of work and the quality of our deliverables. Our TotalCare support program is truly world class, and provides unparalleled service to further our clients’ ecommerce business goals.

In 2017, we look forward to improving on our service offerings, continuing to prioritize ways we can improve on client success. We plan to implement a new structure in engineering with the purpose of renewing our focus on efficiency and quality. We want to advance our best-in-class engineering group, and the plans we have for 2017 will form the foundation for this. We are projecting more growth in our Bangalore office, and are preparing to move the Kochi team to a new and better office space.

Truly there are exciting times ahead for Corra India! We look forward to growing and meeting new challenges this year, hand-in-hand with our Corra teammates around the world.
