The next edition of Magento is here! As one of the first (and the few) Magento 2.0 Trained Solution Partners in the world, Corra is excited to work with clients on this latest version of the popular platform.
Scalable, Flexible Performance
So, what makes Magento 2.0 different from previous editions? Improvements in scalability, flexibility, and performance are key. With its new, modular code structure built on a more modern technology stack, 2.0 allows for easier upgrades and updates. The higher performance metrics and scalability are evident. Where a Magento 1.14 site could support 600 concurrent users, a 2.0 install with all the same configurations is able to support 1000 concurrent users.
Some of the other new features and enhancements include:
- Enhanced API for easier integration of extensions
- Improved admin portal with a new user interface
- Upgraded checkout flow and new payment methods
Corra’s Expertise
Corra has already implemented many of these new features and enhancements. As a part of the Magento 2.0 Beta program, we worked on one of the platform’s first projects for our client ALCATEL, whose sites for the U.S. and Canada launched this week.

Support for Older Versions
In conjunction with the release of Magento 2.0, there is also news about customer support for previous versions. Magento will be offering support for Enterprise Editions 1.13 and 1.14 through Q4 of 2018. Regular support for Enterprise Editions 1.12 and lower has been discontinued.
