Corra Cares: Giving Back to the Community

After more than a decade of volunteering efforts within Corra, last year the company launched an official volunteering program, Corra Cares, to enable our teams around the world to get involved with great causes together. Community is one of our Core Values, and it’s foundational to our company culture. Of course, many Corrans were excited to kick off this program, and we’ve been busy ever since!

We wanted to share a quick recap of our volunteer work so far this year. For the first quarter of 2017, all our Corra Cares events were planned around the theme of food pantries and soup kitchens. Here are some highlights:

Team members in our New York City office volunteered at Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen. They helped with various tasks such as greeting guests, serving food, buttering bread, and clearing tables and trays for the homeless guests who rely on this organization each day.

Our New Jersey office spent a morning at Toni’s Soup Kitchen in Montclair. The volunteers cooked meals, washed dishes, served and greeted guests, cleaned and organized the food pantry and storage, and cleaned up trays and tables. They also helped with their “Backpack Program” by packing backpacks full of food for families in need.

Corrans from our LA office visited Westside Food Bank in Santa Monica, where they helped with sorting the food that enters the warehouse from food drives. They organized and packed it into boxes to be shipped out to various pick-up locations for families in need throughout the LA area.

Corra’s teams in India got involved with their communities as well. Volunteers from our Kochi office visited Divine Providence, Kakkanad – a home for 110 mentally challenged residents. The volunteers delivered toiletries and donated clothing collected from Corra employees. And in Bangalore, our teammates visited an orphanage and children’s home called Home of Faith, Charitable Trust, which is home to 44 children aged 5-16. The volunteers spent time with the children, offered educational support, and donated toys and food items.

We are proud of all that Corrans around the world do to help their local communities. We look forward to sharing more of our Corra Cares stories as we get involved with new projects throughout the year!
