Corra Comments on Amazon’s speedy delivery

September 1, 2012–In a recent Seatle Times article entitled, “As Tax-Free Sales Go, Amazon Looks to Speed, Convenience,” Michael Harvey, COO Corra, offers his insight on Amazon’s motivation for pushing for faster delivery. He explains that the tactic is likely an effort to compete with multichannel competitors who offer buy-online/pick-up-in-store services.
“If I’m working away in my office and I want something later that night, I could place my order on Amazon and have it waiting for me when I get home,” says Harvey. Is this a cue for an innovative response from retailers?
