Director of Program Management

Corra is looking for a Director of Program Management to pioneer a new discipline within Corra: delivering multi-pronged, multi-year, multi-service programs to our large portfolio of clients. The Program Management function will join traditional project management and resource management as an essential part of Corra’s Project Management Office (PMO). This is a new leadership position reporting to the Vice President of Delivery.

 

The Program Management department will deliver and execute medium to large-scale yearly engagements comprising multiple services such as technical support, ongoing system enhancements, follow-on phases of implementation work, digital marketing, and other consulting services such as SEO and conversion rate optimization. Delivering such complex programs will require managing the activities of large cross-functional teams across multiple geographies. The Director of Program Management will be responsible for defining performance KPIs for the department, and developing a team of high performers through training and mentoring.

 

The successful candidate will have 5+ years’ of Project Management or Program Management experience in a digital agency, systems integrator, or software development setting with a minimum of three years in a leadership position. They must be truly entrepreneurial and able to define, embed, and grow a new function within an established organization. They will have proven experience driving the implementation of best practices and processes for complex technology projects, with a particular emphasis on ecommerce. They must be proficient in using Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement best practices and new processes using Agile methodologies that support the delivery of comprehensive programs drawing on multiple disciplines across different geographies

  • Develop the tools and artifacts necessary to manage and report on program status, progress, and KPIs

  • Partner closely with Project Management to ensure consistency in shared methodologies

  • Partner with Account Management and Strategy departments to develop strategic ecommerce roadmaps for clients

  • Conduct periodic account reviews with key client stakeholders, sponsors and leaders to assess progress, confirm important milestones, manage key decisions and mitigate risks

  • Ensure that overall account status is being tracked and communicated in a concise, consistent and effective manner

  • Work closely with Resource Management to forecast and allocate Corra staff efficiently so as to maintain utilization and other KPIs

  • Manage department including resource allocation, staffing decisions, and professional development

  • Report and communicate account progress to Corra’s leadership team by developing and maintaining a weekly scorecard of KPIs that includes overall account status, financial burn, roadmap progress, etc.

  • Partner with the Account Management team to resolve client issues

  • Identify client issues that require executive escalation, and generate clear support material to help drive decisions about issue resolution

  • Build, develop, and grow business relationships with client stakeholders vital both to the success of the project and future work

  • Work with Corra Account Managers to identify new business opportunities

  • Establish training/onboarding processes for new hires

  • Continuously train and mentor direct reports to ensure that they are following delivery methodology, processes, systems usage, and are meeting or exceeding performance standards

  • Promote a culture of collaboration and teamwork across organizational boundaries

  • Support the overall growth and retention of our client portfolio

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related course of study

  • CSM (Certified Scrum Master) and proven experience executing agile software development methodologies; other Agile training and certifications such as Certified Product Owner are a plus

  • At least 5+ years’ experience in program management or project management or similar in an agency, systems integrator, or software development setting is required; ecommerce agency experience is a plus.

  • At least 3+ years of experience in a leadership position in a fast-paced technology industry

  • A background of success in a highly technical environment is a must, along with a proven ability to quickly learn, master, and apply new technologies

  • Proven experience in mentoring and developing staff leading to higher levels of performance and career development and growth

  • Proven experience overseeing the day-to-day activities of staff in a complex, fast-changing environment

  • Experience with the preparation and delivery of presentations to executives, both internally and to clients

  • Fluent English and excellent written and verbal communications skills are required, no exceptions

  • Advanced abilities with standard office software applications (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing, presentation) is required

  • Advanced skills with project management software is required

  • Experience working with international cross-functional teams is highly desirable
