We are currently looking for an entry level Staff Accountant to support the finance department in accounts receivable and accounts payable daily functions.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Billing Manager with the bi-monthly time and material billing is the main function of the staff accountant position

  • Monitor collections, prepare A/R metrics, follow up on customer payments, and prepare aging reports daily

  • Process sales contract flow including working with IT to establish billing spaces in our billing software programs

  • Research and resolve internal and external queries

  • Prepare supplemental invoice reporting to clients

  • Maintain accounts receivable customer files and records

  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies

  • Process credit card payments, daily cash receipts, and apply payments to customer accounts daily

  • Assist with Accounts Payable

  • Reconcile and verify vendor processed payments daily

  • Apply expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoices and daily bank transactions

  • Assist in maintaining ledger accounts by posting account transaction

  • Assist in employee reimbursements by generating weekly accurate reimbursement reports

  • Daily/Weekly audit of Corporate card spending

  • Review, audit and post credit card charges to appropriate accounts and cost centers

  • Support in daily a/r functions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 1-3 years of general accounting experience

  • Ability to understand concepts, work with great attention to detail, prioritize, organize, and analyze situations

  • Ability to maintain high level of customer service

  • Familiarity with accounting software. QuickBooks experience is a plus

  • Working knowledge of office administration and procedures

  • Highly motivated, passionate, self-starter comfortable interacting with senior management

  • Be able to put in extra time during the bi-monthly billing cycles
